Favorite Friday Finds

Oh hello, I’ve missed you!

I’ve been slacking a lot, but hear me out. We’re moving to Denver next week, my students at my school are acting like it’s Halloween, the day before winter break, and field day EVERY DAY. I literally fell asleep sitting up watching The British Bake Off (which I never fall asleep to).

I’ve been trying to get through to the end of the year!

Pray for me.

Anywhooo here are this week Favorite Friday Finds!

Kendra Scott is one of those brands I just love, I love her story and I love all of her products. I especially love lower amazon prices and free prime shipping! These are still a little pricy for jewlery but lower than you would find on her website! Poke around amazon to find some cheaper deals!

I hate spending a lot of money on sandals because I feel like I can never get them to last longer than one summer season so I’m always trying to find cheap sandals that I can wear with sundresses and shorts that I won’t mind throwing away at the end of a season or two!

These awesome sandals are only 12.99-14.99 depending on the color! They have pretty good reviews too.

Another great deal if you’re looking for something less thick for only 10.99-13.99!

Strap Sandals

We all know that off the shoulder tops are in season right now, but most likely they won’t be in season 5 years from now. If you want to pick up a very highly reviewed one (that comes in a million colors, seriously check it out) then I found the perfect one for you!

Off the Shoulder Top!

If you’re looking for summer shorts, then look no further! Anthropologie has a ton of Level 99 shorts on sale, these come in a ton of colors and are linen!!! I love Level 99 clothing so much, I think they hold their shape and they are true to size!

If you’re looking to pick up a new pair of Toms, I highly recommend checking out Amazon. In my opinion, Toms are a bit overpriced for what you get. Luckily Amazon has almost every color you could ever want, some sizes and color combinations as low as $19! I’ve never paid more than $35 for my Toms which I feel is a fair price. I do love them and wear them all the time!

Every color Toms ever

And last but not least, the weirdest thing I found today while looking through Amazon. I was actually looking for some new popsicle molds when I came across a desktop sandbox. At first, I thought it was a joke but then I started to think about how nice it would be to make little shapes and tiny sand castles when I’m stressed out or after a student calls me a “mean old lady” <really happened folks>

Anyways this is totally pointless but fun and would make a great gag gift! Only $20!

Weird tiny sandbox you need in your life.

Well, everyone, it snowed today and I’m off to enjoy a chilly May Friday night and pack for our upcoming move!

Happy Weekend,

Favorite Friday Finds – Amazon Prime Edition

Happy Friday Everyone!

I almost didn’t make it this far, I got strep throat and have been on a continuous cycle of getting a little bit better and then becoming really sick at the end of each day.

I’m not sure how much my students like me right now either, it’s so hard to teach when you’re sick. Today I almost had to laugh at myself because I yelled (which I never do) at a first-grade class “THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE FUN, DOESN’T ANYONE WANT TO HAVE FUN ANYMORE?”

Ahh my poor students.

At least I get to come home to this every day….

Okay Sierra, stop focusing on your cats. This is my weekly edition of Favorite Friday Finds! I’m not sure how many of you ever shop for clothes on Amazon, but if you don’t now is the time to start! A lot of time when I get compliments on clothing and reply with “Thanks!! It was 6 dollars on Amazon!”

I get some weird looks!

I swear half my closet is from Amazon, you can get name brand items for much cheaper and can find pretty much anything you want. I always make sure to look through reviews and trust your gut, if it looks sketchy then it probably is. I’ve found a few neat Amazon finds this week and I’ll post pictures of me wearing them as I receive the items but without further ado, here are my favorite Amazon deals of the week for Friday Favorite Finds!

Renee C Cardigan

Screen Shot 2017-04-28 at 5.12.01 PM.png

Renee C is a trusted high-quality brand, these cardigans are sent out in many Stitch Fix boxes and usually cost around $78 but they’re only $19.99 with prime shipping (have I mentioned my LOVE for prime? I love you prime shipping). This cardigan is Bamboo so you know it’s going to be soft and it comes in several colors with excellent reviews!

Renee C Cardigan

This next one I debated for a while because it doesn’t have any reviews (I suppose once I get it I’ll start the amazon review chain). What I love about this dress is FIRST it has pockets, k sold, thanks a bunch, get in my closet. Also, it’s very pretty, comes in lots of colors and I’m planning on throwing a jean jacket on top and wearing it to teach in during the last month of school.

This next Paper + Tee top comes very highly reviewed and is only $14.99!! I love the lace detail, I’ve had the blush color in my wishlist for several months! This top also comes in several pretty colors, I’m also crushing on the blue!

Paper + Tee Top

I am always looking for options to wear under cardigans or jackets that aren’t plain camisoles and this beautiful lace top fit the bill! It has excellent reviews and at $16.99 you can’t really beat the price! I’m still trying to decide what color to get, I’m stuck between the pink or the white one! The reviews suggest sizing down!

Lace Tank Top

Last clothing item is this cute baseball tee that comes in a zillion cute spring prints! I actually just wore mine the other day (I have a grey top with floral sleeves, picture to come).

Zillion Color Options Top

Alrighty, folks, that’s all I have for this Friday, I can’t wait to show you real “life” photos of my finds! Also, it just started snowing here and I just want the record to show that I really don’t appreciate the tease of warm weather with a nice fat snow storm at the end of April!

I guess I HAVE to go make hot chocolate.

Happy weekend everyone! If anyone wants to buy me a new electric blanket (HINT HINT MASON) please do so, as all three of mine stopped working because I used them too much.

I’d love it if you stopped by my Facebook page for daily updates from me, Littlefoot, and Petrie!

Favorite Friday Finds

Happy Friday/Saturday morning

I’ve been almost sick all week and yesterday I finally got actually sick. So I’ve been spending a lot of time cuddling with the cats and watching Doctor Who. This post is a couple of hours late, but I still wanted to share my finds of the week.

AnyWHOO here are my favorite find this week! Hope you enjoy!

First up are these amazing slip-on Converse, who else loves slip on shoes?!?

They are less than $35 at Nordstrom in these super cute mint color, with free shipping!

Next up is this Lush Tunic, well-loved by many bloggers! I’ve been waiting for this to be on sale again so I could snatch one.

Comes in several colors and less than $30!

Lush Tunic (Free Shipping!)

I posted about this Amazon shirt last week but just got it in the mail! It’s very spring and it was only 12.99! I think someone with a fuller chest could fill out the top part a bit better lol.

Comes in several colors, some prime shipping.

Criss-cross top

Next up is my Vince Camuto Sandals, usually $120. I found them on Amazon for $45, but the price depends on the color and size! Good luck 🙂

They’re super comfortable and don’t have a high heel (I’m 5″7 and don’t like being taller than the rest of the world)

Vince Camuto Beauties

For my last find of the day, I want to talk about food for a minute! You might already know this but my boyfriend Mason has type 1 diabetes and so we eat a mainly ketogenic diet. We don’t eat sugar or many carbs, but we do eat natural sugars like stevia and swerve to not go crazy and still have treats sometimes.

I have found a few blogs I absolutely LOVE, one I definitely recommend following is Maria Mind Body Health. She has a done extensive research and has wonderful recipes, I’ve even emailed her questions and she’s gotten back to me the same day.

My other favorite blog is All Day I Dream About Food! Carolyn is a genius in the kitchen, I’ve never made anything I don’t love. This weekend I’m trying out her Low Carb Keto Brownie Cheesecake for two. I’m always nervous to make a full cake or cheesecake because I know I’ll eat it all (I don’t have kids that can eat all the treats in the house). So in order to make her recipe, we got these little mini cheesecake pans that are too cute.

Besides being adorable, I think they’ll be super practical for making desserts without feeling guilty for having leftovers we either don’t eat (or do eat). They come in a set of three (let’s be honest, I’ll probably make two cheesecakes) and are about $11 with tax.

Pictures to come of cheesecake:)

I hope your weekend is full of rest and not being sick, I’m off to lay on the couch and play Zelda and nap all day!

Love to you all,

Favorite Friday Finds

I’ve decided that my blog needs a little bit of direction and I wanted to start something that I could publish weekly.

By the way, have you liked my Facebook page to get updates from me and the cats? If not, go here >>>>>>>>>> Facebook Page!

Those that know me know that I am a huge bargain hunter, seriously I’ll be checking out and looking at my phone to see if I can find my item somewhere cheaper online! It’s bad.. but hey I’m a teacher and it saves me money which helps me raise my cats!

They’re needy and have a lot of toys

So anyways I thought every Friday I would share my favorite steals, deals, and sales of the week! I’m usually looking for clothes, but I also love finding home decor and cookbooks are a weakness of mine (love a good cookbook with pictures)

So here are my favorite finds of the week!

Hope you enjoy

And finally my favorite book right now!

This little book of mindfulness has helped me through some challenging times. Sometimes I feel anxious or nervous and I don’t know why. This drives me crazy, if I’m nervous about something, I should at least know what I’m supposed to be feeling nervous about.

This book has several exercises that are helpful for any situation, I love it so much and it’s small enough to keep in my purse!

I hope you found some goodies today

I also hope you are able to find something this weekend that makes you as happy as my cat is while he scratches his face!

Get Your Best Fix Ever

Stitch Fix is a stylist company for women and men who would prefer to have someone pick clothing to be delivered directly to their door! Either because don’t have the time to shop, need help with styling outfits, or just hate shopping.

Your stylist knows what to send you through guidelines that you set up when you first sign up for Stitch Fix. Then you are able to leave a note for each individual box.

Stitch Fix is also great for cats, each month they get a new box and wrapping paper to play with! What else could a cat want?

I’ve been doing Stitch Fix for about a year and a half and overall I’ve been extremely pleased.

Although, over the summer I had three boxes where I sent everything back. Nothing seemed to match my style or what I was looking for.

I decided to email customer service to find out what I could do better so my stylist could have a better sense of what my style was. I figured I would start with what I could be doing better instead of getting upset with the service itself. So finally after many fixes and a few stylists, I feel like I have a hang on this stylist/shopper communication! Here are six tips I’ve learned that have helped me have excellent boxes!

Remember Stylist’s Time

Stylist only have about 15 minutes to style each client and even if you’ve been with the same stylist for a while; they still don’t have much time to read your feedback, read your notes, check through your Pinterest, and then pick your items. I like to make sure everything I give my stylist is very deliberate and to the point. You need to give your stylist as much information about what you need right now, what you don’t need in this fix, and if you have any special requests. Always be kind, remember there is a human on the other side of the screen. 🙂

Keep your Pinterest Board Uncluttered

I have found that I receive more items I’m wanting when I don’t have a ton of pins on my Pinterest board. I used to have about 200 pins from all over the place and from all different seasons. I don’t think my stylist has time to scroll through all of that and figure out exactly what I want. I try to keep my pins to stitch fix only clothing or pins from the “Ladies In StitchFix” board of real women wearing stitch fix clothing. Seriously, there are some beautiful pictures of you women out there in Pinterest world!

When you Pin Stitch Fix items it makes it easier for stylists to send you items that look similar to the things you pin. I keep my Pinterest board between 15-20 items and I change my board with each fix. I go through after each box and delete things that I received and add items I’m looking for in my next box. Keeping your Pinterest updated for the changing seasons and needs helps your stylist have a better sense of what you want.

Spend time writing your note

I don’t mean that you must use every single one of your characters. If they gave me unlimited characters my notes would probably sound something like this:

Dear Stylist, thank you so much for the excellent box last month. It was perfect and you really hit my style. For my next box could you please send me something amazingly comfortable but also stylish and maybe something that had pockets for my cats so I can take them with me places… Seriously guys I could go on.

Right now I’m looking for fall tops and maybe some of those amazing coated jeans! My note right now sounds something like this – Looking for more fall knits that are easy to match with colored jeans. Especially looking for longer tops or tunics that I could wear with leggings and boots. Would love to try some coated pants if available. No shoes needed at the moment. Thank you so much 🙂

Don’t Get Too Specific

When I leave my notes I make sure not to ask for anything too specific. I don’t want to be disappointed and the stylist doesn’t always have access to the items I might want to try!

I will admit there have been times where I’ve see something that I want to try on badly, but I have only requested a specific item a couple of times. The stylists have always been great and tried their best to send my request or find something similar. I don’t ever count on them sending something specific.

I have found that if you do want something specific, having your Pinterest board clean and leaving a sweet simple note helps with those unicorn requests. 🦄🦄🦄

Feedback is Important

After you’ve decided what you’re keeping and sending back, this is a perfect time to let your stylist know why. Instead of just saying “this didn’t work,” be detailed and say “I liked the cut but I thought that the pattern didn’t flatter my midsection, would have kept if it was a neutral color.

I have sent things back that would have worked if just one detail was different. I recently got a dress that I loved and was extremely flattering but the print was a little old for me and washed me out a bit. A few fixes later I got the same dress but in a different print and it worked perfect! My stylist would have never known to send me the same dress again if I hadn’t been specific as to why that particular item didn’t work.

Need Inspiration?!

Sometimes I have a hard time figuring out what to write in my note or finding items to pin. Sometimes I need some feedback from someone other than my cat as to what I should keep! This is why I love the Facebook Stitch Fix Boards. There are several boards for selling clothes or discussing stitch fix related items! I’m in the Stitch Fix Sx/Small board, the Stitch Fix main discussion board, and I follow Stitch Fix Reviews.

There is a wonderful, kind, and honest community of women on the boards ready to answer questions, look through your reveals, and give you inspiration for notes or items to pin! Each group has its own rules, so just make sure to read those after you’ve been accepted into the group.

These changes I’ve made over the past few months have really helped my boxes get better and better. I always think it’s a sucessful box if there is one thing I keep and really love/use. I would love to hear if you’ve done something that makes your fixes better! If you’re interested in trying Stitchfit and using my referral link – Click here!

Stitch Fix Review Pumpkin Spice

I’m so excited for this fix!! I asked my stylist for cozy knit tops and possibly a comfy cardigan that I could wear while recovering from a surgery I’m having to have next week. My stylist did a wonderful job! She even sent me an outfit that was only missing a pumpkin spice latte and maybe 10 degree cooler weather! Even my cats were slightly impressed by my outfits this time (you will notice that at the bottom).

I would also like to point out that I let my cats Petrie and Littlefoot out on the balcony while I was taking pictures and they only got into trouble twice!! Littlefoot got completely wrapped up in a spider web, WITH A FREAKING SPIDER. Thanks Littlefoot. And Petrie only ate 4 leaves (which he threw up later). It’s the little things in life.

Let me know what you think! I’m so excited for this fix!

Skies are Blue Arturo Tab-Sleeve Blouse

Such a beautiful fall color and it was really soft too!! This is going back because I already have so much plaid in my closet, AND I roll around on the ground all day with little children and this isn’t the type of top that does very well with spills/sweat.. if you know what I mean.

Market & Spruce Mae Zipper Detail Poncho

This might be the most fall/winter piece of clothing I’ve ever gotten. I was almost disappointed that there wasn’t snow on the ground so that I could take winter pictures in this poncho. This is also going back because although it is beautiful, its not super practical for my daily life! I definitely recommend pinning it though because it is very well made and beautiful!

Brixon Ivy Lawley Cable Knit Open Cardigan

GUYS!! PIN THIS RIGHT NOW. It is the most comfy cardigan and it is SUPER flattering and cute. My stylist definitely delivered on this one and I think I’ll be wearing it for months to come around the house, teaching, and recovering from surgery (while hanging out with the kitties!!)

Is this not the most Pumpkin Spice Outfit you’ve ever seen? You know it is. All I need is a PSL and maybe some pizza (because who doesn’t want pizza). Anyways I’m undecided on these leggings because I just have such a hard time finding thick leggings that don’t show my butt through (you know what I mean). They fit perfectly and are super comfy!!

Laila Jayde Lenehan V Neck Knit Top

This is another wonderful knit sweater that would be a great staple in your closet! I did feel like it was kind of long for my body but it is extremely soft. Those who know me well know that I am a sucker for soft tops. It’s like I just need to have it on my body right now and for the rest of forever. This is definitely another top that you should have on your fall Pinterest board!

And as always, I try to get a great mother/cat picture with Petrie (littlefoot won’t let me hold her and she was asleep under the couch). I hope you enjoy!! And please let me know what you think of this fix!!

If you’ve enjoyed my blog please consider following me on Facebook so that you can stay up with my blogging activities and see what Littlefoot/Petrie are up to!

Love you guys, Sierra

25 Great Fall Boots Under $100

Now that it’s September it is officially boot season here in Colorado! Everyone is getting into the season since the wonderful Pumpkin Spice Latte is back and the temperature is just cool enough to get away with wearing a light long sleeved shirt! Even the animals are pumped and ready to go.

Anyone notice how once again my own cats Littlefoot and Petrie refused to be apart of any photoshoot? It’s just rude and frankly they are not contributing to this household at all. Actually I lied, here is Petrie’s contribution. IMG_20160912_195053.jpg I’ll just leave that there for you

I love boots and what I really love is quality boots that will last a couple of Colorado winters. The problem is that boots are expensive and I’m a teacher so I usually get my boots on sale! I put together a list with links of current boots under $100, I believe these boots offer the best quality for your dollar! I don’t feel bad spending money on good shoes, especially if they are on sale 🙂

Riding Boots

Riding boots are my go to boot during the heavy winter months, I have a brown pair of clarks that I just adore and I’m looking to find some black riding boots this fall as well! Below are some of the great ones I found! If you find something you like I would act quickly in purchasing it because sales go fast!

G by GUESS Hailee Riding Boots ($60 with code VIP) comes in three colors!

Bucco Lavinia Riding Boot ($60)

Very Volatile ‘Geneva’ Fringe Boot ($90) okay.. these might have to join my closet soon! So cute, but do you think Littlefoot and Petrie will think I got them a new cat toy attached to my boot? Hmm..

Franco Sarto Carlano Riding Boot ($80) nice simple (my favorite) brown boot!

Clarks Plaza Studio Waterproof High Boot ($90) I just love Clarks so much, they are super comfortable and I feel like they last forever. Plus these are waterproof! Perfect for snowy days!

Screen Shot 2016-09-12 at 8.35.59 PM.png

Bandolino Baya ($83) I know some people don’t like to mix black/brown or dark brown with light brown but I break that rule all the time! I love to wear my black jeans with my brown pants. Call me crazy.

Karen Scott Davina Wide-Calf Riding Boots ($60 with code VIP) Beautiful black wide calf boots!

Lucky Brand Generall ($70) The color of these Lucky boots is “chipmunk” and I’m really into that name first of all. Also loving the snow Eskimo look with the fur.

Lucky Brand Basel ($84) Lots of different colors, I have these in brown and I’m definitely going to be ordering the black ones this season! I haven’t found a pair of jeans that doesn’t look good with these boots because I feel like they hit the perfect spot on my ankle!

Screen Shot 2016-09-15 at 5.00.43 PM.png

Lucky Brand Bartalino Bootie ($100) This boot is SO cute and comes in so many different colors! I love the red and the grey!

Screen Shot 2016-09-15 at 5.03.13 PM.png

Dolce Vita Jones Booties ($80) there are only a few sizes left! But I thought this was a great size heel and look a little western!

Screen Shot 2016-09-15 at 5.06.31 PM.png

BP. ‘Tandem’ Bootie ($60) These boots come in a few different colors! I love the black and the brown, I think the shape gives them a more polished look!

TOMS Perforated Desert Wedge ($60) I have these in a reddish brown and I love them! They are the perfect amount of heel without making me look like a giant and are actually comfortable. They have a few different colors throughout their website!

G by GUESS Julep Peep-Toe Booties ($53 with code VIP) The weather is still warm enough to wear peep toes and you can’t beat this price!

Madden Girl Beckkie Slingback Peep-Toe Booties ($40 dollars with code VIP) SUPER cute peep toe boots, they come in black and brown!

Over the Knee

Catherine Catherine Malandrino ($60) Hurry these over the knee boots are almost sold out! What a great price for such quality boots!

Chooka ‘Top Solid’ Rain Boot ($70) These babies come in 7 adorable colors so that you can feel ready to take on any rainy day!

Tommy Hilfiger Mela Rain Boots ($90) These rain boots are much sleeker than your normal bright yellow or pink rain boots! I love the zipper on the side

UGG Cassidee ($90) Uggs might not be everyones cup of tea, but during the winter when I’m running errands and it is freezing here in Colorado, these are my favorite! So soft and comfy and you don’t need socks!

Blowfish Rammish ($50) these look so comfy!! Like wearing a sweater on your feet!

Minnetonka Sheepskin Slipper Booties ($68) Okay so I know these are slippers but guys.. winter is coming and I’m pretty sure our significant others would appreciate not having to use their butts as heaters all winter long.

And thats it for now folks, I’m going to go pop open a bottle of wine and enjoy some snuggle time with the kitties! I hope you found something you loved and as always if you enjoy reading my blog and keeping up with my activities (and of course my cats) then please consider following me on Facebook to stay current!
